Leading with your heart first

The more things I do in my business, the more events I attend, and the more people I spend time with, the more it embeds the fact that I want to do everything with my heart first. 

I want this business to be built on love and purpose and meaning... not figures and spreadsheets & analytics. I realise deeply that this approach has it’s pros and cons. I realise that this possibly means that I'm not going to book as many projects as other people in my industry. But that’s ok, because I can no longer ignore that feeling in my gut when something is not right.

And also know that I am never judging anyone else for their approach in their business, ever! I fully understand & respect the spreadsheet and analytic lovers out there (I kinda wish I was like this sometimes). But we all need to walk our own path in business, not someone else's! Everyone needs to do business their way, and whatever way that is, is the perfect way. 

Also please know, that if you are reading this and just starting out, and you are a bit unclear on how you are going to “do business”, please know that these things can take a while to form - well they did for me anyway. And that maybe you won’t know "your path" for a while, and that is totally ok. And maybe you are going to make a lot of decisions that you might later think of as "mistakes" to figure it out. Which is also ok.

But I would also say to anyone new to the business world, and this might sound obvious, to please be cautious about the advice you take on board. I worry a little bit that there are so many people on the world wide webs saying to "do this", "do that", "if you want this, you have to do that".

I worry about this messaging that I see almost everywhere, because I don't think there's ever one solution to a problem. And if this advice doesn't feel right in your gut and in your heart, then you won't be able to pull it off in an authentic way, and I really believe your audience will see that, and know that. 

However you want to run your business, I wholeheartedly hope you can always stay true to yourself and your own unique values. Because no one can replicate these amazing traits that are yours and yours only!
